KPMA Pool Update May 22, 2020

Good morning, all.

The KPMA maintenance staff has been very busy this week working to get the Beach Club and St. James pools ready to re-open for owners and guests’ enjoyment.  That being said, both pools and pool decks are scheduled to re-open at 10 a.m. today (Friday), weather permitting.

Please note that there are some changes for the near term which may affect both homeowners and guests.

• Pools will open at 10 a.m. each day, weather permitting, and close for the day promptly at 8 p.m.
• Hand sanitizer will be provided at each pool.
• Face masks are strongly encouraged.
• All occupants are requested to maintain the recommended 6’ distance from people not in their family. Additional signage will be posted on each gate to outline the basis of the pools being opened.
• The Beach Club pool / pool deck (on the oceanfront between North and South Hampton) occupancy will be limited to 30 people.  There will be only 30 chairs allowed on the deck.
• The St James pool / pool deck occupancy will likewise be limited to 11 chairs for folks.
• We cannot allow folks to “save spots or seats” for folks to come later in the day.
• There will not be any differentiation between homeowners and guests.  All folks at each pool deck will be granted the exact same privileges, and expected to maintain the same respect for the rules, regulations, safety standards, and others on the deck.
• KPMA maintenance staff will be cleaning the pool and bathrooms on two hour intervals, and our security team will be verifying head counts on a random basis.  Daily logs will be maintained to list occupancy, and cleaning times.

Please note that if at any time occupancy exceeds the established limits noted above, volunteers will be asked to leave.  If no one volunteers to depart, the pool and pool deck will be closed for the remainder of the day and everyone will be asked to leave the area.

We acknowledge that some owners and guests may be less than pleased with the above established procedures.  KPMA is committed to be in full compliance, and continually working within the guidelines, as set forth by SC DHEC for public pools so that the two pools may be opened.
