Christmas Shows
Christmas at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show
- Where: Pirates Voyage
- What: Watch as two pirate teams fight for a Christmas treasure! The show features two full-sized pirate ships with acrobatics, a live nativity scene, and a four-course holiday feast.
- When: Shows begin running for the season on October 30, 2024
The South’s Grandest Christmas Show
- Where: Alabama Theatre, North Myrtle Beach
- What: #1 Christmas show in Myrtle Beach. This festive holiday musical combines traditional classics and contemporary holiday favorites. Also featured is their Comedic Stunt Juggler, Max Winfrey, who puts on a new Christmas twist.
- When: Shows run six days a week with select matinees from November 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Carolina Opry’s The Christmas Show of the South
- Where: The Calvin Gilmore Theater, Myrtle Beach
- What: An annual holiday production bringing in stunning changes and time-honored traditions each year, with new talented artists and long-standing Opry favorites. It brings the warm, wonderful, and fun spirit of Christmas to life with music, comedy, and dance.
- When: Shows run with evening performances and matinees from November 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
Motor City Musical – Original Motown Tribute Show
- Where: GTS Theatre, Myrtle Beach
- What: Enjoy a two-hour evening of soulful entertainment as the audience goes on a musical journey through the history of Motown. The show features soul and holiday music of the 60s and 70s including Christmas favorites.
- When: Select dates from November 2, 2024, through December 23, 2024
Step into Christmas with the Elton John Tribute Show
- Where: GTS Theatre, Myrtle Beach
- What: Since 1973, “Step into Christmas” has topped the charts. Come see this song and more holiday hits along with the Award-Winning Elton John Tribute Artist Bill Connors.
- When: Select dates from November 5, 2024, through December 17, 2024
A Magical Christmas and Comedy Show
- Where: GTS Theatre, Myrtle Beach
- What: Go on a journey with award-winning magician, Michael Bairefoot, who creates his own unique and “twisted” style of magic. The music, magic, comedy, and audience participation are all pushed to the limit. Be blown away as the magic happens right before your eyes.
- When: Select dates from November 7, 2024, through December 19, 2024
Christmas Parades
Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Cruise
- Where: Barefoot Queen Riverboat by Barefoot Landing
- What: All Aboard! Join as a parade participant for the Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta parade along the Intracoastal Waterway on the Riverboat. A full dinner and Christmas treats will be served on this five-hour-long cruise along with games, prizes, and entertainment! There will also be a fully stocked bar, serving select beers, wines, and liquors available for purchase. Must be 21+ years old with a valid ID. Bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots and get $5 back on your ticket per toy (up to 2 toys). Tickets are $84.99++ for adults and are expected to sell out.
- When: November 30, 2024, departing at 3:30 p.m.
A Very Broadway Christmas Parade
- Where: Broadway at The Beach
- When: December 7, 2024 | 11 a.m.
North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade
- Where: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
- What: An evening parade featuring lighted floats and vehicles. Parade entries will be judged and awarded for being the best!
- When: December 7, 2024 | 5:30 p.m.
- Where: Barefoot Queen Riverboat by Barefoot Landing
- What: Come dressed in your Christmas PJs and enjoy a magical Christmas evening, onboard the Barefoot Queen Riverboat! The cruise includes The Polar Express Story, your very own Believe Ticket, a visit from Santa, Christmas snacks, and hot chocolate. Tickets must be booked at least one day before departure and are $70 for adults and $65 for children 12 and under.
- When: December 13, 14, 16 – 21, 2024 | 6 p.m.
Surfside Beach Christmas Parade
- Where: South Ocean Boulevard and Surfside Drive in Surfside Beach
- What: Annual parade for all to enjoy followed by The Holiday Market at Memorial Park featuring a variety of vendors.
- When: December 14, 2024 | 2 p.m.
Light Displays
The Great Christmas Light Show
- Where: North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
- What: Drive through a light show with 2 million lights festively displayed, with over 500 displays (select displays new for 2024!) and Santa’s village to enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores, ride the Santa Express Train, and, of course, meet Santa!
- When: November 25 – December 30 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm (Closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, and Christmas Day, December 25) | Santa’s Village is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ONLY from November 29 through December 15. Open Nightly December 19 through 30 (Closed on Christmas Day).
- Where: Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet
- What: Walk through a soft glowing sculpture and wildlife preserve, with several themed botanical gardens with over 2,700 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights at Nights of a Thousand Candles. Enjoy live music entertainment, refreshments, and holiday-themed exhibits. Tickets for non-members are $35 for adults and $17 for children ages 4-12; tickets must be pre-purchased, and space is limited.
- When: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on select dates November 30, 2024 – January 5, 2025
MarshWalk Wonderland of Lights
- Where: MarshWalk, Murrells Inlet
- What: Take a stroll along the MarshWalk and enjoy thousands of lights displayed throughout synced with Christmas music. It will also feature a 20-foot LED Christmas tree at the end of the Veteran’s Pier and an array of places to get the perfect photo including the Candy Can Arch, a massive Christmas ornament and more. Plus, on Fridays through Sundays from November 29 – December 22 kids can check out Santa’s Village with a petting zoo, barrel cart rides, visits with Santa, and more! The light show is absolutely free; select children’s activities may have an additional fee.
- When: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. November 29 – December 31
Tree Lightings
Broadway at the Beach Tree Lighting Celebration
- Where: The Hangout Stage at Broadway at the Beach
- What: Featuring live entertainment, fireworks, tree lighting, special guests, and more!
- When: November 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 8 p.m.
- Where: The Market Common
- What: Kick off the holiday season with photos with Santa, holiday performances, free photo opportunities, and more.
- When: November 23, 2024 | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting
- Where: McLean Park
- What: An appearance from Santa and kid-friendly activities, caroling, stage performances, and refreshments.
- When: December 3, 2024 | 6 p.m.
Surfside Beach Christmas Tree Lighting
- Where: Memorial Park, Surfside Beach
- What: Enjoy free admission to this event that will kick off the holiday season in Surfside Beach! Live music and entertainment will kick off the night along with the tree lighting. There will be food trucks, vendors, Christmas characters, photos with Santa, a snow machine, face painting, a live nativity scene and so much more!
- When: December 5, 2024 | 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (rain date December 6)
Additional Activities
Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals
- Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
- What: Get in the holiday spirit and jump-start your holiday shopping with over 350 vendors; enjoy elaborate festival displays, strolling Victorian Musicians, display of trees, and much more. Advanced tickets are $12 for adult single-day, $15 for multi-day; $5 for children single-day, and $6.50 for multi-day. Ticket prices are higher at the door.
- When: November 7 – 10, 2024
Festival of Trees at Ripley’s Aquarium
- Where: Ripley’s Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach
- What: Tis the season! This festival celebrates the heritage and diversity of the United States. The themed trees are adorned with decorations and ornaments representing each of the 55 great states and territories. Enjoy the displays as you explore the aquarium and find your home state’s tree!
- When: November 11, 2024 – January 1, 2025
- Where: Great Christmas Light Show at North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
- What: Get dressed up for the 2-mile fun run/walk through the light show and compete for the best-dressed award! Pre-registration is required, and the event is expected to sell out. Adults 12+ are $25 while youth ages 11 and under are $10. The entry cost includes a finisher medal and hot chocolate following the race.
- When: November 22, 2024 & November 23, 2024
- Where: The Market Common
- What: Hop aboard “The Polar Bus Express” in your comfy pajamas or a holiday outfit! This double-decker Big Red Bus features sounds from the movie soundtrack as passengers go for a ride down Ocean Boulevard to the “North Pole.” The ride includes a souvenir golden ticket, sleigh bell, water, sweet treat, and complimentary hot chocolate following the ride. Jolly Saint Nicholas may also make a surprise appearance!
- When: December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 23
10th Annual Santa Crawl on the MarshWalk
- Where: MarshWalk of Murrells Inlet
- What: Feel the holiday cheer along the MarshWalk as restaurants will be featuring holiday beverages, festive dinner specials, and more for the annual Santa Crawl. Dress up in your best Christmas costume or attire for a chance to win prizes. Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. and you must be present to win!
- When: December 12, 2024 | 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Where: Memorial Park in Surfside Beach
- What: Come take a free trolley ride and view all the beautiful Christmas lights around Surfside Beach. The event also features a DJ playing Christmas music, balloon artists, free hot cocoa, crafts, face painting, and more.
- When: December 20, 2024 | 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
